I am a huge Jim Henson fan! My absolute favorite of his movies is without a doubt Labyrinth! I happened to be scrolling through my news feed on Facebook a couple of days before this event, and you know, one of those sponsored posts popped up under another post, you know how Facebook works... It was from Labyrinth saying about how the film was coming back to theaters for a few showings for the 30th Anniversary!
Well, I'll say, it certainly caught my attention! I clicked on it for more info and found out it was playing about 40 minutes from me! I got right on the messenger to my boyfriend and oh yeah, I was going! It was at the Cinemark at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Mall (fancy-schmancy name for an over priced shopping center). I have only been to the Mills as we call it here, semi-locally, a handful of times, so I was not really up to date on their closing times and food options etc...
I will say we found this restaurant, TJ Asian Buffet, in the mall that was still open, as we were making the late show at 7pm since he went golfing in the morning. They had wonderful food, attentive staff, and great prices! Here's a few pics of our dinner date!

After a nice dinner we headed over to the theater and watched the movie. There was a nice commentary at the beginning talking about the movie and showing some footage from the filming of the movie. It also stated a lot of the puppets, props, and scenary pieces are at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA! I'm really planning a trip down to see all amazing things they have.
Here is a picture of me in my Labyrinth shirt from NerdBlock.com when I found the poster at the theater! During the commentary at the beginning, there was also an advertisement to tweet to win a movie poster signed by Brian Henson! i entered of course, I'm supposing I didn't win, as I didn't find a mention or direct message on twotter.
I'll be watching for more of these showings and events from Fathom Events!
